Community Credit Lab (CCL) is adding a Director of Revenue & Investor Relations to lead our development strategy and team!


Ideal candidate has experience in fundraising with strong communication and relationship-building skills, as well as knowledge of community investment models and impact investing trends.

We partner with community-based organizations (i.e. “Lending Partners”) to develop affordable Lending Programs that get capital to people on their terms. Our Lending Programs are designed in partnership with the community to center the needs, opportunities, and experiences of people with identities that have been institutionally discriminated against by the financial system. We are a small, fast-growing team working toward a paradigm shift within the financial sector to move capital and power to communities, reduce wealth gaps, and build individual, collective and generational prosperity. Where You Come In

Our team has built a quickly growing lending model in the past 2.5 years, with an enthusiastic and growing portfolio of funders, donors, and investors. As we continue growing our development and communication strategies, it is the opportune moment to bring in someone to build on this foundation and tailor it based on their past experience. We are committed to building a funding model that is aligned with our values and are looking to hire a development professional committed to community-centric fundraising principles and experience with both the high-level strategy and day-to-day tactics of building a successful development strategy. Further, CCL’s current funding model includes grants, recoverable grants, and impact investments, and we are looking for a leader to bring a forward-thinking approach to leveraging both philanthropic and impact investment capital in order to enable CCL’s ongoing operations and lending programs. We are looking for a development and/or investor relations professional to bring your experience, creativity, and vision to CCL as our development strategy continues to evolve.


The ideal candidate will be curious about impact investing (direct experience not required) and community lending and ready to own and develop approaches that balance the need to get things done while honoring the individuality of each team member. You will be an important partner in building alongside us as we work toward a more inclusive financial system.


Community Credit Lab is moving to become a 4-day workweek team and this is a great role for someone looking for a flexible work schedule that enjoys Fridays off (or working on separate projects). This is a great role for a development leader that desires to support an organization at the intersection of impact investing, community investment, and nonprofit management.

Primary Responsibilities & Key Tasks for the Role:

  • Leadership & Strategy

  • Lead and oversee the efforts of CCL’s Development team, including the evolution of CCL’s fundraising strategy, investor relations, and communications activities.

  • Lead development efforts across the CCL team by pulling in relevant team members, as applicable including CCL staff, board, advisors, funders, and partners.

  • Manage and Lead the Development team, including the following current team members:

  • Development Manager (internal): leads fundraising efforts with individual donors and CCL’s communications strategy and initiatives

  • Development Consultant (external): informs CCL’s development strategy, storytelling, and prepares grant proposals and reporting

  • Funder Relationships & Grant Management

  • Partner with CCL’s Development Manager to coordinate CCL’s individual giving strategy and CCL’s approach to relationship management.

  • Lead the initiation and stewardship of new institutional funder relationships.

  • Lead and iterate internal processes and procedures to streamline CCL’s development function as it continues to evolve and grow.

  • Impact Investor Relationships Management

  • Lead CCL’s Impact Investment development strategy and new investor/funder relationships.

  • Lead the coordination of information sharing with current and prospective impact investors.

  • Lead the tracking and reporting of impact investments and recoverable grants for coordination with CCL’s Finance Team.

  • Governance & Ecosystem Engagement

  • Coordinate with Development Manager to communicate and engage the board around CCL’s fundraising efforts.

  • Engage with relevant networks (e.g. Community Centric Fundraising) and groups to keep apprised of development best practices that center equity and racial justice and share out CCL’s learnings and approach.

  • Represent CCL externally with quarterly discussions, speaking and writing engagements, as applicable.

  • Communications & Events

  • Partner with CCL’s Development Manager to identify and implement ways to increase CCL’s visibility and thought leadership in impact investing and equitable community investment.

  • Support CCL’s Development Manager to ensure communications are clear, relevant, coordinated, consistent, and strategic to partners and community members.

  • Support CCL’s Development Manager to coordinate relevant events (virtual and in-person) as the team sees fit to resource CCL's work and build relationships.

Ideal Capabilities:

  • Expertise in institutional fundraising, engagement and relationship management

  • Ability to design and improve systems for development operations

  • Interest in using professional expertise and lived experience to build a growing development program

  • Grounded in an abundance mindset, recognizing that our work is not done in a silo and that resources exist for CCL and our partners to achieve shared goals collectively

  • Excitement to innovate, iterate, and launch new ideas for CCL’s role in the community

  • Energized by being part of a small team, including staff & board

  • Comfortable prioritizing multiple scopes of work and co-defining success

Ideal Experience:

  • 8 - 10 years in a combination of development, fundraising, investor relations, and/or communications strategy and implementation

  • A track record of success and progressive accomplishments in any of the following: nonprofit management, community investment, and/or impact investing

  • Experience with a variety of office tools and databases; including Canva (or other design tools), Airtable (or other project tools), Copper (or other CRM), and Google suite office tools

  • Experience and comfortability working with a small team that requires flexibility and mutual support.

  • Track record of project management and implementation with minimal guidance

  • Hunger and proven ability to test and iterate development hypotheses

Commitment: We're looking for someone to commit to working 4 days per week (Monday - Thursday).

Compensation: $80,000 per annum (base salary)

Benefits: Comprehensive Health, Dental & Vision Plan as well as a SIMPLE IRA retirement plan with a 2% contribution from CCL. Benefits estimated at a value of $7,000.

Location: Flexible with preference for Seattle, WA.
